James E. West Fellowship Award Matching Program
The James E West Fellowship Award nationally recognizes individuals who contribute $1,000 or more in cash or securities to the Southeast Louisiana Council's permanent Endowment.
Individuals may contribute money toward a fellowship in honor of someone else: An Eagle Scout, parent, graduate, Silver Beaver award recipient, Vigil Honor recipient, Scoutmaster, Cubmaster, retiree, volunteer, or special loved ones including non-Scouters, youth or adults.
For a short period, we will “MATCH” your contribution. For example:
If you donate $2,500 we will match $2,500
If you donate $1,000 we will match $1,000.
If you donate $500, will match $500.
This offer will only apply if our matching fund is available. At present we have over $50,000 to match donations.
The award is named after the first chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts of America who exemplified Ralph Waldo Emerson's observation that "An institution is the lengthened shadow of one man." Today, Scouting is the "lengthened shadow" of the more than three decades of the farseeing and dedicated leadership of Dr. James E. West.
Contributions to the endowment fund through the James E. West Fellowship are never spent; only the interest is used to further the programs in local Scouts of the Southeast Louisiana Council.
The national endowment recognitions of James E. West and the Second Century Society recognizes supports of the Southeast Louisiana Council’s endowment.

Recognition
Will be recognized two years on the endowment recognition wall in the Moffett Scout Center and be listed in the recognition booklet.
